Clinical Research

Faculty members and Clinical researchers at RheumaCARE, generate new knowledge through trials on the efficacy and safety of new drugs. Supporting global research also helps make new and advanced therapies available to the Indian population. Informed participation from patients and ethical credibility from an approved Institutional Ethics Committee are key to successful trials, thereby enabling management of chronic conditions, symptom management , improved quality and longevity of life.

Our ongoing trials include Rheumatoid Arthritis, Scleroderma, Psoriatic Arthritis, Inflammatory Myopathies with global companies such as BI, Pfrizer, Dr Reddy’s and Sun Pharma. Investigator Initiated research work publications include Lancet Rheumatology, Annals of Rheumatology and BMJ Rheumatology.

BIRAC Project & Registry

As a continuous effort to monitor the effectiveness of treatment courses and safety of the therapeutic interventions, registries play a vital role. In recognition of the same, our team, trained in good clinical practices, collects and analyzes data from a large number of patients, providing valuable insights into disease patterns, treatment effectiveness and long-term outcomes.

The ongoing registries include Sjogren’s Syndrome Registry, Scleroderma Registry and BIRAC registry for all rheumatic conditions.

DrNB Clinical Immunology & Rheumatology program

The National Board of Examinations (NBE) accredited DrNB Clinical Immunology & Rheumatology Program is run under the stewardship of our team of experienced doctors. The three year program offers supervised facilities and clinical exposure for comprehensive training in the diagnosis and treatment of a broad spectrum of Rheumatic diseases. Specialised clinics include rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, SLE, inflammatory myositis , systemic vasculitis and soft tissue rheumatism.

Trainees gain primary decision-making responsibilities with faculty support, emphasising longitudinal patient care. They also gain expertise in musculoskeletal examination, differential diagnoses, synovial fluid analysis, therapeutic injections, pathology and radiology interpretation, imaging techniques,musculoskeletal ultrasound training & guided procedures and evidence-based use of drugs including biologicals. Formal instruction includes lectures, journal clubs and interactive Grand Rounds with bedside demonstrations.
